Abstract:
Abstract Interest in regional planning and the location of production has greatly grown throughout the world in the last decade. Apart from the concern with regional economics which follows from the increasing study of economic development, this enhanced attention may perhaps be attributed to the possibility now opened of solving complex problems of regional development with the use of mathematical models employing contemporary computer technology, and of deriving therefrom new conclusions permitting the elaboration of a theory of regional economic growth. This paper deals with these developments as they can be applied to socialist conditions.
