Chapter Chapter 14 in Economic Problems of Agriculture in Industrial Societies, 1969, pp 304-321 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Opening the doors to the employment of workers (even nonqualified) in industry has removed not only all the manpower reserves from Czechoslavak agriculture, but has also led to the departure of people who would have been valuable and even necessary on the farms. In the period 1950–63, 850 thousand persons left Czechoslavak agriculture, i.e. 40 per cent of the initial number, and the rate of loss shows a rising trend.
