Chapter Chapter 3 in Economic Development for Africa South of the Sahara, 1964, pp 71-88 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The Congo1 is a vast Central African territory situated astride the equator. It is 2–3 million square kilometres in area—that is, a third of the size of the United States. It has only 13 million inhabitants—that is, 8 per cent of the United States’ population. The average density of population is thus only 5 inhabitants per square kilometre.
