Abstract:
Abstract It was my intention, at first, to present here a brief survey of historical and theoretical work on the long cycles1 which we call Kondratieff. This would have included an analysis of the problem indicated in the title; but on reflection, I preferred to limit myself to that problem alone, for various reasons.
