The North-South Relationship and Economic Development
Rikard Lang
Chapter 9 in Economic Growth and Resources, 1979, pp 92-101 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Economic relations between countries on very different levels of economic development — referred to as north—south relations — lie at the centre of proposed changes in the institutional structure of international economic relations and the world economy. New patterns of specialisation and cooperation are now being envisioned for the purpose of guiding and accelerating economic development within developing countries, with emphasis on the urgent need to restructure the world’s economy and the institutional framework of international economic relations.
