The Importance of Organisational Forms of Integration in the Field of International Transport

Stefan Tsankov

Chapter 25 in The Economics of Long-Distance Transportation, 1983, pp 348-352 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Transport appears to be the material basis for the processes of the international division of labour and the constant expansion of economic, political and cultural links between states. Apart from this function of integration, transport also influences economic results. The degree of this influence depends on different characteristics of transportation such as speed, regularity, the preservation of the use value of transported goods and services offered to passengers.
