Chapter 1 in East-West Economic Relations in the Changing Global Environment, 1986, pp 3-8 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Two relatively broad topics are covered in this introductory paper. First, it reviews briefly the major developments in East-West economic relationships during the last four years, as the secretariat of the Economic Commission for Europe sees them, including a preliminary evaluation of the developments in 1984. Second, it summarises some of the main results of a recent ECE study dealing with the export of eastern manufactured goods to the West and puts forward a number of issues raised by the findings.
