Chapter 9 in East-West Economic Relations in the Changing Global Environment, 1986, pp 144-180 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Austria is a small industrial country, and contributes only 1.4 per cent to total exports of Western industrial countries. But its trade links with the European CMEA region2 are well developed and of long standing. In many aspects Austria acted as a pioneer in developing various forms of trade relations with the East. It is therefore considered that this experience may be of interest also to other industrially developed countries.
