Hisao Kanamori

Chapter 2 in Human Resources, Employment and Development, 1983, pp 31-47 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract It was necessary in the post-war period for Japan to increase employment in the secondary and tertiary industries in order to sustain its high economic growth. In the 25 years from 1950 to 1975 the employment in these two industrial sectors increased by 2.7 million and became 2.5 times larger. This represented an annual average increase of 3.7 per cent.
