Abstract:
Abstract A dialectical type of relationship exists between education and development.1 At any given moment, education is the product of the socio-economic system and the level of development. In a traditional society, for example, the special integration of the youth (which is one of the objectives of the educational system) may or may not be realised by the tribe, the group, or the large family unit. Education is obviously dependent on the socio-economic system. The objectives for the creation of national educational institutions are notably to shield the youth from the powerful traditional influences, to facilitate the integration of all into the national community, and to propagate the attitudes most favourable to change and to technical progress.
