General Discussion of the Economic Effects of the Green Revolution

Nurul Islam

Chapter 21 in Agricultural Policy in Developing Countries, 1974, pp 537-558 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Professor Nurul Islam began by saying that, in listening to all the preceding discussion of the Conference, he had been impressed by the limitations of our knowledge. At each stage we were asking for new research before reaching policy conclusions. If economic plans were to be framed, however, one must try to reach some general conclusions, even if they were only interim ones.
