Abstract:
Abstract Our third case study looks at another key industry for the development of a transition political economy. Telecommunications are arguably one of the key infrastructures of the future alongside energy and finance. In terms of our FDI classification, telecommunications services are also a market-serving form of FDI. We would expect therefore that MNE strategy in these sectors would be based on a longer-term strategy than a shorter-term resource-seeking one.
