Management and Mismanagement in the Telecommunications Industry
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 5 in Rating Management’s Effectiveness, 2004, pp 100-123 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It has been a deliberate choice to focus most of the case studies in this book on the telecommunications industry, the ineffectiveness of its management, and the downfall of big and mighty companies in the years following the boom of the late 1990s. This is the theme of all six chapters in Part Two. Before going into specifics, however, an overall perspective of the telecommunications domain is offered, because this will help to explain what has gone wrong with the different telecoms and their suppliers.
