Chapter Chapter 7 in Executive’s Guide to Understanding People, 2009, pp 85-110 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Twenty-five-year-old Louise Bentley made an appointment with a psychiatrist to help her decide if she should undergo psychoanalysis. Her chief complaint was an inability to sustain a lasting relationship with a man and her habit of approaching marriage only to break off the relationship at the last minute. She reported at least three such incidents in recent years and remarked that she was currently being pressed to marry by an attractive and successful young business executive. She believed that this relationship would go the way of the others because of her doubts and uncertainties, which had spread from marriage to career. She commented, “Doubting is becoming a way of life.”
