Inclusive Leadership

Sherry H. Penney and Patricia Akemi Neilson

Chapter Chapter 5 in Next Generation Leadership, 2010, pp 95-118 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract A projected wave of CEO and presidential retirements combined with a national push to diversify leadership within the profit, nonprofit, education, and governmental sectors affords an unprecedented opportunity for promising young professionals to fill these leadership roles. This window of opportunity is opening as the graying of senior managers in all sectors of the workplace takes place. It is time for a new generation of leaders who reflect the changing demographics of the United States to assume these leadership positions. But are they in the pipeline and how will they lead?
