Chapter 18.0 in Everyday Strategic Preparedness, 2007, pp 147-152 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In closing, we frame this book as an example of phro- netic social science (Flyvbjerg, 2001) that seeks both to describe and to deliberate about a practical phenomenon. Having therefore described what we see as the importance of practical wisdom for strategic preparedness in organizations, we frame our deliberations as recommendations offered directly to various practitioners — on the front lines of the ‘war on terror’, in the executive offices of multinational firms, at business schools, and in the everyday circumstances of organizational life — who are currently struggling to become more strategically prepared for unexpected change.
