Abstract:
Abstract After a dozen years of industrialization behind closed doors, many big developing countries opened their domestic markets to the outside world in the 1960s or 1970s. Since then, the indigenous industries have faced serious global challenges in their home market, and some of them have responded by building up their own core capabilities in order to survive in the globally competitive environment. For these nations, it is absolutely necessary to build up their national business strengths by developing their local industrial champions and exploiting the innovation potential of the indigenous industries.
