Chapter 1 in Britain’s Winning Formula, 2000, pp 1-17 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The rate at which British owned car manufacturing companies have fallen into the hands of overseas owners had by 1999 left TVR, with an annual output c. 2000 specialist sports cars a year, as our largest wholly British owned supplier of private cars. It may well appear to the UK public that this single company upholds our sagging national automobile pride. However, this is simply not true as on the race and rally tracks of the world the contribution of British technology, engineers, aerodynamicists and designers is critical and pre-eminent.
