Perspectives on Entrepreneurship and Enterprise

Simon Bridge

Chapter 6 in Rethinking Enterprise Policy, 2010, pp 95-117 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 5 explored different perspectives on some aspects of enterprise and entrepreneurship. This chapter follows that by examining different views on the meanings of the words enterprise and entrepreneurship themselves. It starts with an exploration of the different uses, meanings and dimensions of the words and, in an attempt to reduce some of the current confusion, suggests a way of categorising some of those differences. It then explores some of the issues that are revealed among the various interpretations and seeks to draw some conclusions.
