Abstract:
Abstract Many European stock exchanges currently face important challenges, the response to which will determine their survival in the near future. There exists a broad consensus that the present European landscape of financial markets, which is characterised by extreme fragmentation on the one hand and obsolete regulatory and technological framework on the other, cannot be maintained much longer.
