Opportunity for Learning

Chapter 6 in China After the Subprime Crisis, 2010, pp 89-105 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The subprime crisis provides a unique opportunity for China to learn from the developed world’s experience of macroeconomic policy, financial liberalisation and regulatory control. From a macroeconomic and growth perspective, it should be very clear that China was not decoupled from the growth trend of the developed world during the crisis. Post-crisis, China is still not yet an independent economic power that can grow organically and at the same time propel global economic growth.
