Living with discord
Peter Shaw
Chapter 15 in Defining Moments, 2010, pp 129-135 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Our ideal is to live in harmony. The Hebrew word “shalom” is not about a gentle peace but about living together in harmony. But discord is part of life. Without discord at work there would be no creative tension. Without discord in our personal lives there would be no character and limited creativity. Sometimes discord is an inevitable evil. Sometimes discord can bring out the best out in us.
