Chapter 5 in Asia and the Global Economic Crisis, 2010, pp 58-79 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract A variety of possible policy responses to the global recession were available to governments and central banks in Asia. For this chapter we developed a grouping mechanism to organize the discussion of developing Asian economies and review the outlook for countries within these categories. We then considered the background conditions in the developing Asian region, stimulus measures that were undertaken and analysis of future prospects and policies. We begin by dividing the Asian region into four country groups.
