Abstract: Abstract In this chapter I raise the question: how do we know whether the reasons for an action justify that action? Was there a good reason to act in that way? Was it rational for the agent to do it and was it good that he did it? How can we decide on the goodness of actions? And how can we take account of it. I take the last two questions to be central to the problem of valuation.
