Towards a European Clearing Agency
Philip Arestis
Chapter 7 in Money, Pricing, Distribution and Economic Integration, 1997, pp 121-134 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter argues that although a European clearing agency (ECA) of the type Keynes envisaged for the international economy may not be a panacea for the economic problems of the European Union, it is nonetheless a better way forward and far superior to the IECB. It is therefore a continuation of the argument advanced in Chapter 6 on the problems the proposed IECB would be marred with.
