Introduction
Richard Layard
Chapter 21 in Tackling Inequality, 1999, pp 399-400 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The biggest economic challenge today is how to rebuild the economies that rotted under Communism. Since 1990 I have been deeply involved in these issues. I have written every kind of piece from newspaper articles to a book on The Coming Russian Boom. I have also been responsible for the journal Russian Economic Trends. Much of what I have written has been highly topical,1 and little of it academic. I am therefore including here only six short pieces.
