Values Based Leadership

Chapter 11 in Becoming Dynamic, 2000, pp 173-186 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Great organisations without great leadership are an oxymoron. An organisation can have great values that are clearly visible in the processes that guide the organisation. It can have a superb strategy that is clear and incisive; a sure thing to win huge advantage. But without great leadership, it will have nothing. Values and strategy will remain as ideas and intentions. Of the many companies I have visited and studied, I have never found a great company that does not have great leadership.
