Active Data Transfers and Remote Procedure Calls

Dimitris N. Chorafas

Chapter 9 in Transaction Management, 1998, pp 175-192 from Palgrave Macmillan

But we also need basic principles which are able to govern how applications access databases and communicate with one another in active data transfers, for example: sending an order; requiring the receiver to take application action; or creating further file movements.
