Chapter 4 in The State, Technology and Industrialization in Africa, 1995, pp 85-95 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The two previous chapters have taken an explicitly comparative form: Chapter 2 was concerned to explain the varying technological behaviour of public enterprises in the textile sector of a single African country (Tanzania), while Chapter 3 had as its primary goal the explanation of similar patterns of technological behaviour in two countries whose ideological differences might instead have been expected to produce dissimilar patterns.
