Nature, Market and Ignorance: Can Development Be Managed?
Oluf Langhelle
Chapter 7 in Towards Sustainable Development, 1999, pp 111-136 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Is it possible to steer development towards a more sustainable path? There seems to be widespread agreement that present development is not sustainable. At the same time, it appears to be very difficult to change the course of development, and there appears to be widespread scepticism towards the possibilities for social management (Sejersted, 1988, 1989).
