The Allocation of Resources to the Armed Forces in Chile: A Case of Limited Transparency
Guillermo Pattillo
Chapter 16 in Arming the South, 2002, pp 373-402 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to describe the process by which resources are allocated to the armed forces of Chile. Among the many alternative approaches available, I consider the allocation mechanism only from the point of view of transparency. This means that I analyze processes and procedures more than budget numbers. Also, I advance a diagnosis more than proposals for solution.
