In 1952, the agricultural output value was 48 billion yuan, and grain yield 308.8 billion catties, a growth of 43 percent compared with that in 1949. The national gross value of industrial output was 35 billion yuan, an increase of 149 percent compared with that in 1949. All main industrial products surpassed the pre-liberation maximum annual output.
