Empirical Results and Analysis

Teng-Fei Wang, Kevin Cullinane and Dong-Wook Song

Chapter 5 in Container Port Production and Economic Efficiency, 2005, pp 93-115 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter reports the empirical results derived from applying the alternative approaches to container port efficiency estimation discussed in Chapter 3. The efficiency results yielded by various approaches are compared using the Pearson correlation coefficient and Spearman’s rank order correlation coefficient in order to obtain some insight into the degree of variation between the results yielded by the various approaches to efficiency estimation.
