Chapter Chapter 4 in The Reflecting Glass, 2001, pp 43-57 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this chapter is to give a flavour of the subtlety and impact of professional coaching for leadership development in practice. We take three of our actual client cases to illustrate three different points of departure in enhancing leadership performance: developing leadership at a senior level for the first time recovering leadership impetus refocusing existing, competent leadership This is the ‘what’ of the work. At the same time, we seek to illustrate different ways in which content and process (cognitive and emotional connecting: doing and being) may be blended. This is the ‘how’ of the coaching to be described in Chapter 5.
