Chapter 20 in Mentoring, 2004, pp 188-208 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract A successful mentoring relationship depends on a number of factors and both mentor and mentee need to take an active part. In the previous chapter building rapport and contracting were discussed. This chapter will explore how to progress the mentoring relationship effectively, thus making it a positive experience. There are certain logistics that will ensure that the mentor and mentee meet on a regular basis and further guidance on how to structure the meetings. The organisations in the Focus Group developed certain helpful strategies and tactics to ensure that the meetings are productive.
