A chapter in The People Business, 2005, pp 109-111 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Is it true that in these politically correct, litigiously obsessed, but spin-doctor, image-conscious times, physical appearance as much as ability and experience determines who is appointed? Is it survival of the handsomest? Surely no one dares differentiate between candidates on how they look — except of course in the theater, movies, and fashion where it is all important.
