Chapter 2 in The Knowledge Economy in India, 2003, pp 24-57 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Nothing has captured the imagination of India’s policy-makers quite like information technology (IT), and Indians have proved themselves to be world-class in IT. Indians (or people of Indian origin) are becoming not just contributors but leaders of the IT revolution in the United States, and India’s software industry has appeared to be growing so rapidly that it would forever solve India’s balance of payments problems, and make India an IT ‘superpower’.
