Chapter Chapter 3 in Added Value, 2003, pp 86-108 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract There is a great scene in the film Apollo 13. Disaster has struck the mission, the air supply system has gone wrong and the astronauts, in orbit, are rapidly running out of oxygen. Their only hope lies with the ingenuity of the NASA technical team on the ground. The boffins are duly called into a room and a clutter of objects is emptied onto the table.
