Kurt Wetzel

Chapter 4 in Labour Relations and Health Reform, 2005, pp 86-90 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Canada has a population of some 32 million people, spread unevenly over nearly ten million square kilometres. In 2001, the country spent approximately C$89.5 billion on the provision of health services, or roughly C$2,982 per capita.1 Approximately 73 percent of this amount was publicly funded by the federal and provincial/territorial governments, while 27 percent came directly from individuals receiving specific services.
