Abstract: Abstract Often, business strategies in the past have been based on rigid, structured models and approaches to strategic analysis and policy setting. Many corporate strategies and strategic budgets today are still set and executed through an approach that is essentially mechanical and uninspired. The past is extrapolated into the future, with little change from the status quo expected or planned. That traditional approach is frequently formulaic, occasionally repetitive. and usually tedious.
