A chapter in China and the Global Business Revolution, 2001, pp 935-935 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract On 27 Monday March 2000 I went to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. There I was part of a group from the China Development Forum, organised by the Chinese State Council, that met with Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji. The group included the CEOs of many global corporations, such as the American International Group, Michelin, Shell, Rio Tinto and BP Amoco. He shook hands with each of us. He welcomed us. Then he invited us to ask him questions. He encouraged us to ask any questions at all: T am happy to deal with any questions you might wish to ask’.
