Differences in Sexual Orientation

Chapter 14 in Assertiveness and Diversity, 2007, pp 135-141 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Assertiveness is about bringing the “whole self” to work and being able to be true to oneself without fear of being judged negatively and discriminated against. For many people in minority sexual orientation groups the experience of being open and able to speak their truth about who they are can be a difficult and challenging experience. The feeling of being different from others, and of uncertainty about whether it is safe to disclose one’s sexual orientation, is a common experience for many people in minority sexual orientation groups.
