Sustainable Growth or Short-term Rebound

Chi Lo

Chapter 6 in Understanding China’s Growth, 2007, pp 150-176 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Despite the structural changes that have been taking place in China, its transition to a market-based system remains incomplete. Much still needs to be done on financial and corporate reforms; the government’s role in economic management needs to be redefined; private and intellectual property rights need to be enhanced; and the current rule-by-law framework needs to be replaced by actual rule-of-law.
