India’s HR Nightmare

Michael Backman

Chapter 11 in Asia Future Shock, 2008, pp 77-81 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract What is most likely to ruin India’s prospects for continued economic growth? Its famously atrocious road network? The corrupt and inefficient ports? Relentless red tape? War with Pakistan? Probably none of these. Ironically for a country with a billion-plus population, it is more likely to be a lack of manpower and, more specifically, a lack of management and leadership skills.
