Chapter 1 in Quantitative Exchange Rate Economics in Developing Countries, 2007, pp 1-15 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This book provides an overview of quantitative exchange rate economics and presents a historical analysis of events and institutional background of the Indonesian economy. Indonesia has been used as a case study for other developing or emerging economies. Lessons learned from the Indonesian case study and other issues presented in this book can serve as a basis for implementing policy changes in developing economies. However, this book evaluates the current conceptual models and regimes on exchange rate choice and provides an integrated alternative model for exchange rate compatible with any given exchange rate policy.
