Abstract: Abstract The purpose of the chapter is to clarify the transferability of the Japanese management and production system into Europe. The prediction on the basis of the findings of the research in North America and Asia is that the Japanese system is potentially transferable into Europe. The question, however is to identify through on-site inspections what is transferable and what is not, and what hybrid patterns have been formed in this region. The findings of the survey in North America and Asia is that the transfer of the system and hybrid patterns are regulated by two factors, namely, the system application strategy of the Japanese multinational enterprises and the local managerial environment. For that matter, corporate investment strategy, too, is in a way determined in the comparative relationships with the local environmental factors.
