Abstract: Abstract VENTURE capital has a long pedigree and many people and nations are credited with its invention. Probably the earliest manifestation of it was during the Shong Dynasty in China over 800 years ago when the bidding organisation took shape. At that time, would-be inventors put their ideas to their village and the villagers bid for the right to finance them, keeping things in the family as it were.
