The Impact on the Economy

Richard Thompson

Chapter Twenty-Nine in Real Venture Capital, 2008, pp 111-113 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract THE PRIME objective of real venture capital is to produce good and fast expanding companies in high growth industries, such as healthcare and technology. These companies, which normally have a high export thrust and weighting, are of vital importance to the UK economy, preoccupied as it is with backing and recycling the ownership of mature companies, coupled with an ever-increasing investment in state-sponsored organisations.
