Abstract:
Abstract In recent editorials, Portland Business Journal’s Craig Wessel and Portland Development Commission Don Mazziotti waxed enthusiastic about new efforts to boost economic development in our state. At about the same time, investor Ralph Shaw and reporter Ted Sickinger separately warned of less upbeat futures for Oregon. It’s good to recognize that steps have been taken, but Ralph and Ted’s view is the right one: Oregon needs a louder wake-up call. We must do much more, and do it much faster.
