Chapter 22 in Social Culture and High-Tech Economic Development, 2006, pp 190-202 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this issue we criticize the view, apparently held by many cities, that the infrastructural aspects of economic development are far more important than the marketing aspects. Like many of our readers, the Technopolis Times staff are (or have been) in business. If we have survived in business, it is not because we believe “if you build a better mousetrap the world will beat a path to your door.” No, we understand that a good product is half of business success, and the other half is excellent advertising and marketing.
